On probation for 3 years as Sub-Inspector at a salary $400 per month. On confirmation $425 $600 x $25; then $640 - $800 x $40. Appointment as Inspector depends on the passage of an efficiency bar, and the scale for Inspector is $840 $960 x $40.

A pensionable expatriation allowance is payable to officers domiciled overseas. The rates are on a sliding salaris scale and vary from $133,65 per month for a salary of

$400 per month to $200 per month for a salary of $960 per $930 and

-month. Expatriation allowance is payable on leave.

Free medical treatment, and dental treatment at special rates are provided.

Free uniform of an approved pattern and scale is provided. Boots and/or shoes are included in uniform.

A temporary high cost of living allowance on a sliding scale is payable. For a married officer with children on minimum of scale this amounts to $305, on the maximum to $390 per mouth.

For a married officer without children 80% of standard allowance.

For an unmarried officer 60% of standard allowance.

(b) Quarters:

Furnished Quarters will be provided on deduction of not more than 15% of salary.

(c) Passages;

Free 2nd Class passages are provided for the officer and his family, up to a maximum of 4 full fares, once in every 4 years, which is the normal tour of duty.

(d) Leave:

One day for every seven days resident service. In addition local leave of 15 days a year.

(e) Period of Engagement:

On agreement for three years during the probationary period. If services satisfactory, thereafter in a permanent and pensionable capacity.

If on transfer from another Colonial force, normal transfer arrangements apply.
